The opportunity

dcbel is looking to hire a Field Engineer - Residential Energy to work in dcbel's Revenue Team. Successful candidates will play a pivotal role in enabling installer channel sales by accelerating the scale up of dcbel's installer network by having technical training directly in the field wherever installer partners may be located.

Main responsibilities

  • Enable installer channel sales
  • Provide on-premise training of new installers during onboarding
  • Provide technical support during installer sales outreach
  • Provide ad hoc technical support during demonstrations and in other partner channels as required


Key requirements

  • Demonstrable hands-on field experience supporting selling and installing of new/innovative product in the residential and/or energy and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and US electrical code
  • Working knowledge of PV system, BESS systems, and residential EV chargers;
  • Working knowledge of IoT communication protocols


Profile

  • Some knowledge of EV charging communication protocols (ISO 15118) and DER integration protocols (IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR) are a strong plus;
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, result oriented and strong EQ.
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel; 85%+ in Canada and in the US
