This position includes significant duties such as:

  • Performs mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on vacuum coaters and all support equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs vacuum coating equipment and building systems such as compressed air, vacuum and nitrogen systems. Has experience working in molecular cleanrooms.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical prints and system drawings.
  • Monitors and adjusts equipment within the limits of the standard set-up.
  • Rigs and installs equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Performs tests, measurements, and inspections.
  • Communicates with vendors to obtain quotes and setup necessary service visits.
  • Actively engages with continuous improvement and cost reduction programs.
  • Liaisons with 3rd party vendors and contractors to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Communicates effectively and updates/maintains records as required.
  • Responsible for housekeeping and autonomous maintenance.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, job aides, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Working Conditions:

  • Good working conditions.
  • Frequently lifts or moves materials up to 5 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts or moves materials up to 15 pounds.
  • Rarely lifts or moves materials more than 25 pounds.
  • Minimal exposure to disagreeable elements.
  • Cleanroom environment prevalent.
  • Personal protective equipment required including but not limited to safety shoes, safety glasses, and cleanroom garments (frock, gloves, facemask, etc.).

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3-5 years of vacuum coating maintenance experience.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Has knowledge and familiarity with vacuum systems and vacuum concepts.
  • Has knowledge and familiarity with DI water systems.
  • Has knowledge and familiarity with leak checking and leak detecting equipment.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in precision manufacturing operations. 
  • Knowledge and experience on Buhler, Leybold, Edwards Vacuum, Sitek, and Jelight equipment.
  • Experience working in cleanrooms and with sensitive equipment
  • Experience in electrical and PLC troubleshooting

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required 

Hours of Work:

  • Regular schedule will be B shift (2pm-10:30pm) with overtime (days, off-hours and weekends) as needed and required.
  • NOTE: training will take place on A Shift (~7am-3:30pm) until independent.

This position does not support immigration sponsorship. 

The range for this position is $29.75 - $34.00/hour with a $2.00/hour shift differential for hours worked on B Shift.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
