Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Technician B

Job Code: 36934

Job Location: Redmond, WA

Job Schedule: 2nd Shift 4/10: Employees work 10 hours per day, 4 days a week (Mon - Thu 3:30pm - 2am)

Training will start on day shift prior to being assigned to second shift for approximately 2-3 months.ย 

This position includes 10% shift differential pay.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced, precision mechanical Manufacturing Technician C to perform a variety of assembly duties including mechanical rocket engine assembly and test. Assembly will be on piece parts into completed sub-assembly using typical assembly tools, but could also include final assemblies, quality testing, re-work, etc.

In our Redmond, WA, site (Seattle area), we fabricate, assemble, and test chemical and electric thrusters, as well as small scale propulsion systems.ย  Our products enable a wide variety of missions from the exploration of our solar system to global communication and the surveillance of severe weather and wild fires.

Essential Functions:

  • Mechanical assembly and test of engines or other components/products as assigned. Small mechanical precision assembly.ย 
  • Handle precision clean parts within a laminar flow environment.ย 
  • Perform diversified, but semi-repetitive operations following standardized methods and procedures under changing conditions.ย 
  • Coordinate with maintenance, supervision and/or engineers in the set-up and calibration of equipment.ย 
  • Perform troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies, company manufactured tooling and pressure testing.ย 
  • Use and operate various computer systems and applicable software (such as retrieving work instructions or manufacturing module in ERP system).ย 
  • Read and interpret product drawings, process specifications, and department procedures.
  • Provide assistance in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process, collect data, or assist in research work.ย 
  • Repair or make recommendations to solve equipment issues.ย 
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers.ย 
  • Perform mathematical calculations accurately and quickly.ย 
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the work team and those contacted in the course of work
  • Effectively communicate to supervision/lead person, maintenance, engineering or other employees of the organization.ย 
  • Work with management, supervision or lead personnel to prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.ย 
  • Provide rapid support while following proper housekeeping and safety procedures.ย 
  • Other duties as assigned.ย 

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Understanding of electrical test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, etc.).
  • Knowledge of strippers, crimpers and installing solder splices.
  • Certification to IPC 620 preferred.
  • Familiarity with 5S and lean procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to work other shifts and overtime as necessary.
  • Oracle and Delmia experience.
  • Knowledge of Laminar Flow environments and FOE/FOD controls a plus.
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly and test of electromechanical components.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $22.83/hr - $42.54/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
