Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Solar Installer shall support and contribute to the team, installing Commercial grid-tied PV systems.

The installer will assist in the completion of installation of all solar arrays / systems. Other responsibilities

may include LED lighting projects, roofing projects and maintenance of existing commercial solar systems.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Works under direction of the Transform Energy’s Construction Manager

and the Foreman or Lead of the team they are assigned. As an “at will” employee, employment may be

terminated at any time by the employee or employer with or without notice and with or without cause.


QUANTIFIABLE DIMENSIONS: Provides day-to-day support to team lead to ensure jobs are completed

timely, efficiently and meeting quality standards set by Transform Energy.


WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS: Frequent contact with Transform Energy team members, the

Transform Energy Chief Executive Officer, VP of Finance, Construction Manager, external customers and

vendors.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Install solar systems and associated electrical equipment
  2. Follow safe working practices are followed at all times on the job site
  3. Support the Crew Lead to assure the successful completion of systems
  4. Complete all work efficiently and to a high-quality standard
  5. Layout and assembly of solar modules/array and mounting hardware
  6. Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment
  7. Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
  8. Operate machinery
  9. Document completion of installation
  10. Clean up of job site
  11. Ensure outstanding customer service standard is met
  12. Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety
  13. Additional duties required as needed


Requirements:

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • AA, BS degree, with experience, PMP Certification a plus.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Previous experience in project coordination/project management required.
  • Ability to read solar blue prints and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and daily activities to timely completion.
  • Ability to research, source and create solutions for essential function deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team.
  • Ability to "go the extra mile".
  • Must have a strong work ethic, attendance and sense of urgency.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient in the use of computer based applications; including Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Project and/or Salesforce.
  • Valid CA driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Must be able to successfully complete prescreen background check.

Education and Experience

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of construction, solar, electrical, and roofing

a plus.


Experience: The individual selected must have a minimum of 1 year commercial solar installation

experience. Experience reading and interpreting plan sets and electrical experience. Valid driver’s license

and background check required. Professional appearance, excellent written and verbal communication

skills, strong customer service, top notch work ethic.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to

finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and

taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and be able to move

equipment and/or materials while climbing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,

distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.


Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts,

high voltage electric and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or

humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the

work environment is moderately loud
