Description
At Trident Industries, our field operations depend on reliable equipment, responsive service, and employees who can work safely and independently in changing field environments. As our security tower workload continues to grow, we are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Field Technician to support the transportation, deployment, maintenance, and recovery of solar CCTV trailers.
This role is designed to provide dedicated support for solar CCTV trailers operations while allowing our Equipment Maintenance team to remain focused on core fleet and equipment responsibilities. The Field Technician will be responsible for transporting trailers to project sites, completing setup and teardown, inspecting equipment, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and supporting technical improvements.
This position requires more than basic equipment transport. We are looking for someone who is comfortable towing and maneuvering trailers, has strong mechanical and DC electrical aptitude, and can troubleshoot equipment independently in the field. Experience working with solar power systems, batteries, cameras, networking equipment, trailer repair and fabrication is highly valuable.

Technical Variety
You will work across mechanical, DC electrical, solar energy, CCTV, and basic networking systems, providing exposure to a variety of equipment and troubleshooting situations.
Independent Responsibility
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of field assignments, work independently, and ensure equipment is safely transported, deployed, serviced, and recovered.
Cross-Functional Support
During slower deployment periods, you will support general fleet and equipment maintenance, helping keep Trident's broader equipment operations running efficiently.
Requirements
  • Transport solar CCTV Trailers to and from project sites.
  • Safely tow, maneuver, position, and back trailers in a variety of field environments.
  • Deploy and set up solar CCTV Trailers at designated project locations.
  • Perform solar CCTV Trailer teardown and recovery following project or deployment completion.
  • Conduct routine inspections of security trailers and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical and DC electrical issues.
  • Perform repairs and service necessary to maintain trailer functionality and deployment readiness.
  • Support trailer upfitting and technical improvements.
  • Troubleshoot solar panels, batteries, charge controllers, inverters, and other power-management systems.
  • Assist with troubleshooting IP cameras and basic networking equipment.
  • Identify equipment issues and complete appropriate mechanical or electrical troubleshooting.
  • Support trailer repair and general equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Assist with fabrication or welding-related work when qualified and necessary.
  • Support basic automotive service and general fleet maintenance during slower deployment periods.
  • Maintain a safe and organized approach to trailer transportation, equipment handling, and field operations.
  • Work independently while communicating equipment concerns, service needs, and field conditions to the appropriate team members.
  • Travel to project sites and perform work outdoors in varying field conditions.

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Experience safely towing and maneuvering trailers.
  • Comfortable backing and positioning trailers in field environments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • DC electrical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
  • Hands-on mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Dependable and able to work independently in the field.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors and travel to project sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience with solar panels, batteries, charge controllers, inverters and power-management systems.
  • Knowledge of IP cameras and basic networking equipment.
