How much do solar installers jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 23, 2026, the average hourly pay for solar installers in Indiana is $23.31, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $18.99 and $25.14 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Where do solar installers get paid the most?

Solar installers tend to earn higher wages in regions with strong renewable energy policies, higher cost of living, and greater demand for solar projects. States or areas with more commercial and residential solar installations typically offer higher pay due to increased project volume and specialized skills required. Experience, certifications, and working for larger or more established companies can also influence earnings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Solar Installer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Solar Installer, you need knowledge of electrical systems, physical fitness, and often a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional training or certifications in solar technology being advantageous. Familiarity with hand and power tools, basic electrical testing equipment, and safety protocols, as well as certifications like NABCEP, are typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork set exceptional installers apart. These skills ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality solar system installations that meet industry standards and client expectations.

What jobs pay 10,000 a month without a degree?

Solar installers can earn around $10,000 per month with experience and strong technical skills, especially in high-demand areas. Most positions require on-the-job training or certifications rather than a college degree, and earnings depend on factors like location, project size, and overtime work.

Is becoming a solar installer worth it?

Solar installers install and maintain solar energy systems, often requiring physical work outdoors and technical skills. The job can offer steady employment, competitive wages, and opportunities for certification and advancement, making it a viable career choice for those interested in renewable energy and hands-on work.

What are solar installers?

Solar installers, also known as solar photovoltaic (PV) installers, are professionals who assemble, install, and maintain solar panel systems on rooftops or other structures. They work with a variety of tools and materials to ensure the panels are securely mounted and properly connected to the electrical system. Their job also involves assessing installation sites, following safety protocols, and sometimes troubleshooting or repairing existing systems. Solar installers play a crucial role in helping homes and businesses transition to renewable energy sources. They often work outdoors and may need to climb ladders or work at heights.

What are some common challenges faced by solar installers on the job, and how can they be managed?

Solar installers often work outdoors and may encounter challenges such as working at heights, handling heavy equipment, and dealing with variable weather conditions. Proper safety training, use of personal protective equipment, and following established protocols help manage these risks. Additionally, collaborating closely with team members and staying updated on evolving installation technologies can ensure efficient and safe project completion.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Solar installers typically do not earn $2000 a day; their pay depends on experience, location, and project size, often ranging from a few hundred to over a thousand dollars per day. High-paying jobs that can reach or exceed $2000 daily include specialized roles such as project managers in solar energy, renewable energy consultants, or experienced electrical contractors working on large-scale installations.
