Our customers are leading renewable energy developers/owners with utility scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States. The Electrical Inspector will serve as owner's rep for our customers' construction projects and help to ensure work locations are in full compliance with federal, state, and OSHA requirements. The initial deployment is to a fully funded scheduled and permitted solar project in central Texas and is expected to last 15 - 20 months. We need your skills NOW! Future projects may be of longer or shorter duration, anywhere solar is deployed throughout the US.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Ensure the project management teams and any manufacturers or subcontractors are in compliance with all safety standard practices and regulations, following the electrical systems QC Plan throughout the project's entirety, to complete on time, on budget and to quality specifications.
• Ensure quality control of solar electrical installations.
• Performs inspections and plans examining work to ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and ordinances.
• Prepare and report on all discrepancies/deviations found during the inspection process.
• Communicate QC inspections results to owner management.
• Monitor Electrical operations and conduct required inspections of work to resolve quality related issues with workers and subcontractors.
• Ensure electrical installation at Substations meet code, prudent industry substation practices as it pertains to grounding, shielding, and other activities.
• Verify that all site activities comply with the quality codes and standards.
• Provide appropriate feedback to management regarding QA/QC matters.
• Develop inspection and test programs.
• Coordinate quality site inspections with all subcontractors and vendors.
• Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC plan.
• Inspect / review product material and testing to ensure compliance with code, standards, specifications and QCM.
• Identify and control all Non-Conformity Reports while correcting with remedial action.
• Witness testing and ensure that the daily testing documentation is in order.
• Witness MV terminations and testing and ensure that the daily testing documentation is in order.
• Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed in a timely matter, meeting project deadline.

Qualifications And Skills

• Legally authorized to work in the US for any employer.
• Valid US Driver's License
• Journeyman electrician preferred, but not required.
• Able to pass an MVR Check, Background Check, Physical, and Drug Test
• OSHA 30 Certification
• Excellent Communication skills
• Very Detailed Oriented Mindset
• Strong electrical safety and QC experience
• Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications and comparing with the customer or engineers' standards.
• Proficient in both verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate well with others at all levels of the organization.
• Will prepare detailed reports and present them to the customer in an organized, clear and concise manner each day.

Experience

• Self-perform Substation construction experience.
• Experience as an owner's representative
• 3+ years' experience supervising self-perform construction crews.
• Management oversight of substation subcontractors
• Experience coordinating with transmission operators and grid ISO's.
• Proficiency in areas such as T-Line, inverters, inter-connect systems, switchgear installations, and HV collection/distribution systems.
• Knowledge of transmission line work, foundations and stringing of conductors, and transmission substations and facilities, are all strongly preferred.
• Computer skills (to properly fill out daily and weekly reports) and also be capable of photo documentation with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Travel requirements are based on project location.

Physical Requirements

Included but not limited to;

• This job may require you to work up to 12 hr days, 5 to 6 days a week if project requires
• Able and willing to travel and stay for a minimum of 6 weeks at a time for a project
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions for up to 12hrs a day
• Must be able to wear company-provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs or more at any given time throughout the day
• Must be able to walk on average 3 to 5 miles per day across rough terrain and/or unlevel surfaces

Successful candidate may be located locally or may work on a 6-7 week rotation schedule
