Environmental, Health & Safety ManagerJob Summary
Melink Solar, a leading commercial solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company specializing in designing and building solar arrays, is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving Melink Solar's health, safety, fleet, equipment, PPE, and drone programs. This role partners with construction leadership to create a proactive safety culture while ensuring that field personnel have reliable vehicles, equipment, and operational support systems. The position serves as the company's subject matter expert for OSHA compliance, fleet and asset management, PPE, inspections, and FAA-compliant drone operations.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Lead the company's safety program and continuously improve safety culture.
  • Develop and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and training.
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and jobsite observations.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and root causes; implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and support insurance and workers' compensation activities.
  • Manage all company-owned vehicles including preventive maintenance, registrations, repairs, replacement planning, fuel cards, and utilization.
  • Manage company assets including tools, trailers, specialty equipment, and inventory.
  • Oversee PPE selection, inventory, distribution, inspection, and replacement.
  • Administer the corporate drone program including FAA compliance, pilot qualifications, flight logs, maintenance, imagery standards, and equipment lifecycle.
  • Support project teams through field visits and coaching.
  • Maintain safety records, KPIs, dashboards, and regulatory documentation.
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning and periodic drills.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships for fleet, PPE, and safety equipment.
  • Develop annual operating budgets for safety and asset programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement through metrics and best practices.
  • Serve as Melink Solar's Environmental, Health & Safety representative during customer meetings, project kickoff meetings, and site visits.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers through professional communication and timely resolution of safety-related issues.
  • Respond to customer questions regarding Melink Solar's safety policies, procedures, training programs, and safety performance.
  • Develop and maintain Melink Solar's subcontractor prequalification process.
  • Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with Melink Solar standards
Travel Requirement: Up to 50% travel required (regional and national).
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, training, and a proactive safety culture across multiple jobsites.
  • Skilled in conducting site audits and jobsite observations, investigating incidents and near misses, and driving effective root-cause corrective actions.
  • Competence in managing vehicle fleets, tools, PPE, and specialty equipment lifecycles, as well as administering an FAA-compliant drone program.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to represent Melink Solar professionally with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams and resolve safety issues promptly.
  • Proficiency in maintaining safety records, KPIs, and dashboards, and using metrics and MS Office tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs and priorities independently.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of construction safety leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and commercial construction practices.
  • Demonstrated hands-on safety experience in the construction industry is required.
  • OSHA 510 Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites on an as needed basis.
  • Experience managing vehicle fleets and field assets preferred.

  • First Aid/CPR/AED
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of a jobsite in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to walk, climb, bend, crawl, reach, and work on uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to typical construction site hazards and conditions.
