Job Title: Welder Operator

Job Description

This role supports the production of large metal ground screws used in solar farms and construction sites. You will perform small hand welds and operate a robotic welding machine to ensure high-quality welds throughout the manufacturing process. You will start welds, monitor and adjust the robotic equipment, and correct any weld discrepancies while maintaining consistent quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform small hand MIG welds on metal components as part of the ground screw manufacturing process.
• Set up, operate, and monitor a robotic welding machine to complete welds according to specifications.
• Start welds correctly and ensure the robotic welding machine runs smoothly throughout each production cycle.
• Inspect welds continuously during and after the welding process to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and correct weld discrepancies or defects as they arise.
• Load and unload parts and materials into the robotic welding machine and related equipment.
• Support general fabrication tasks as needed to keep production flowing efficiently.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with team members and communicate any issues affecting production or quality.

Essential Skills

• Experience with MIG welding in a production or fabrication environment.
• Ability to operate and monitor robotic welding machines.
• Experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to start welds properly and adjust welding parameters as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform thorough quality checks.
• Ability to identify and correct weld defects and discrepancies.
• Capability to perform general labor tasks related to fabrication and production.
• Willingness and ability to work either 1st shift (6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday–Friday) or 2nd shift (2:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m., Monday–Friday).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience with industrial robots or automated welding systems.
• Comfort working in a production environment with repetitive tasks and consistent processes.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with other production staff.

Work Environment

This is a manufacturing environment focused on producing large metal ground screws for use in solar farms and construction sites. You will work around welding equipment, robotic welding machines, and fabrication tools. The position follows a structured schedule with two primary shifts: 1st shift from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 2nd shift from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The environment involves typical industrial conditions, including exposure to metal fabrication processes, welding operations, and general production activity.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Saint Louis,MO.
