Gross Annual Base Salary: USD 131,000 - 170,000

Additional variable compensation and benefits may apply. Total compensation is based on experience, skills, and location using objective, job-related criteria.

Summary

The Senior Software Engineer I on the Cloud Development team designs, develops and maintains solutions that support the management and orchestration of OneStream's cloud hosting infrastructure. This position requires a very strong knowledge of modern software design principles, concepts and best practices. The position reports to the Manager, Cloud Development and will interact with team members and other engineering teams. The Senior Software Engineer I is expected to take a leading role in a focused group of engineers and will be responsible for coaching and mentoring team members. This role requires very strong knowledge of modern software design principles, concepts, and best practices.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead design discussions and planning. Provide complex design requirements for major features and new solutions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced members of the team.
  • Perform detailed reviews of code submitted by team members for compliance with security best practices, coding standards, and acceptance criteria for release branch PRs.
  • Participate in developing coding standards.
  • Serve as an onboarding partner for new hires.
  • Analyze, design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
  • Proactively suggest options for solutions that make the feature easy to use and improve customer experience.
  • Drive requirements discussions based on value delivered to internal and external customers.

                    Required Education and Experience

                    • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field.
                      • 7+ years programming experience.
                      • Azure Certified Developer Associate, Azure Certified Architect Expert.
                    • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
                    • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
                    • Highly self-motivated and directed.
                    • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
                    • Skill for writing reusable libraries.
                    • Familiar with various design and architectural patterns.
                    • Experience with Agile/Scrum Development Methodologies.
                    • Ability to analyze and communicate technical issues, lead discussions, and influence decisions.
                    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
                    • Experience troubleshooting errors, analyzing log data, and developing a resolution.
                    • Understanding of cloud concepts including elasticity, security, and identity management.
                    • C#, PowerShell, VB .Net, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, and Atlassian Jira.

                    • Azure compute/hosting technologies such as Azure Functions, Container Apps, Batch, Kubernetes Service.

                    • Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, Storage (table, queue, blob).

                    • Azure Application Insights, Dynatrace.

                    • Blazor, Angular, React.

                    Preferred Education and Experience

                    • Experience developing internal SaaS management platforms/control plane technologies.
                    • Experience orchestrating the deployment and manipulation of cloud hosting infrastructure using IaC, REST APIs, and SDKs.
                    • Strong understanding of authentication and authorization technologies and strategies.
                    • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
