Job description

Job Description Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Mechanic We're looking for an experienced HDD Mechanic to help keep our drilling equipment operating safely and efficiently. If you have strong diesel, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills and enjoy working on heavy equipment, we'd like to hear from you. What You'll Do Diagnose & Repair Diagnose and repair HDD equipment and heavy machinery.

Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrains, and powertrain components. Repair pumps, hydraulic cylinders, hoses, motors, and drilling fluid systems. Perform engine diagnostics using manufacturer software and diagnostic tools.

Preventive Maintenance Perform routine maintenance on drilling rigs, vacuum excavators, mud systems, trailers, and support equipment. Inspect equipment for safety and operational readiness. Read hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.

Shop Operations Weld and fabricate equipment components as needed. Complete maintenance records and repair documentation. Coordinate repairs to minimize equipment downtime.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow OSHA and company safety procedures. Required Experience 3+ years repairing HDD equipment, heavy construction equipment, or diesel machinery.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment diagnostics. Experience with diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting equipment. Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.

Valid driver's license (CDL preferred). Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in both shop and field environments. Preferred Experience Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: Equipment: Vermeer, Ditch Witch, American Augers, Toro, Astec Engines: Cummins, Caterpillar, John Deere, Deutz Hydraulic troubleshooting and repair Welding and fabrication Equipment telematics and diagnostic software DOT inspections and fleet maintenance
