Job description

Join a hands-on software integration team supporting advanced combat vehicle systems with a focus on Linux-based software integration, hardware/software bring-up, and rigorous testing. This role offers the opportunity to work across engineering and vehicle test environments to solve technical problems, improve system performance, and help ensure reliable mission-ready outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Integrate hardware modules into a combat vehicle system and support end-to-end software integration efforts.
  • Deploy and test software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot software and hardware integration testbeds.
  • Use scripting, networking, and diagnostic tools to investigate and resolve technical issues.
  • Support cybersecurity hardening activities, vulnerability scans, and system compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with engineering and vehicle test teams to analyze issues, review data, and validate fixes.
  • Perform software verification testing and help ensure technical solutions meet quality and performance requirements.
  • Work within established engineering practices while supporting customer-facing technical problem solving.
Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of software integration experience.
  • Experience integrating software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Working knowledge of packaging software as RPMs and binary executables.
  • Familiarity with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries.
  • Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols.
  • Experience using Git and Jira/GitLab configuration management tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships and collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and work on combat vehicle systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.

  • Experience with military or commercial design standards.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553.
  • Experience with UML modeling tools or DOORS.
  • Background in embedded systems or RTOS environments such as VxWorks.
  • Knowledge of C and C++ programming.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Familiarity with Qt Framework and QML-based front-end development.
  • Knowledge of secure networking protocols such as SSL/TLS, SSH, and SFTP.
  • Experience with Nessus, Coverity, STIG hardening, and virtual machines.
  • Exposure to model-based engineering tools such as MagicDraw or Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience with NI TestStand and combat vehicle functionality.
