Medical Oncologist – Boston Medical Center South

Boston Medical Center South – Brockton, MA Full-Time

Boston Medical Center South (BMC South), a member of the Boston Medical Center Health System, is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Medical Oncologist to join our multidisciplinary oncology team.

This physician will deliver high-quality, patient-centered cancer care in a community-based setting that is closely integrated with a leading academic medical center. The role offers the opportunity to practice across the continuum of oncology care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, active treatment, and survivorship.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and have a passion for caring for a diverse and underserved patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care to adult oncology patients, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of cancer and treatment-related conditions
  • Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies
  • Conduct new patient consultations and follow-up visits, including treatment response and toxicity management
  • Collaborate closely with radiation oncology, surgical oncology, infusion services, palliative care, and ancillary teams
  • Interpret diagnostic testing, including imaging, pathology, and laboratory data
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case conferences
  • Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers (NPs/PAs) and trainees
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, and goals of care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical program development, and potential research activities
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Qualifications

Required

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • DEA registration (or eligibility)
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care

Preferred

  • Experience in community-based oncology practice
  • Interest in program development, quality improvement, or clinical research
  • Bilingual skills (highly valued given patient population)

Compensation range: $469,122 - $751,547

The base salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to clinical FTE, qualifications, experience, education, board certifications, specialty, training, and scope of practice. The above hiring range represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Any eligible incentive compensation is not included in the above compensation range and will be discussed during the interview process.
