Position Summary
WisEngineering is seeking a motivated and experienced Software Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of related experience to join our team in support of development programs at Picatinny Arsenal. In this role, you will work closely with management and the Product Development Team to analyze, design, code, test, and improve mission-critical software systems across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborative Development: Partner with management and development teams to define system requirements, design software architecture, write code, define processes, and support integration.
  • Code Optimization & Review: Evaluate existing codebase to identify technical, logical, and design deficiencies; execute improvements, updates, and refactoring with high efficiency.
  • Testing & Verification: Perform unit testing prior to integration, execute system analysis, and utilize automated testing methods to support software verification.
  • Quality & Standards: Adhere strictly to team coding standards while exercising independent judgment to select the most efficient methods for development, testing, and debugging.
  • Self-Directed Execution: Deliver essential results and complete core functions with limited supervision in an Agile environment.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related professional software engineering experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent field experience.
  • Core Skills & Languages: Proficiency in C++ and Java, using modern IDEs like Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Operating Systems: Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux.
  • Scripting & Tools: Experience with XML scripting, version control via Git, Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Methodologies: Strong background working within Agile development processes.

Preferred Qualifications (Pluses)
  • Experience with Android development and Android Studio.
