Job description

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

May include, but not limited to:

The Technical Director will operate the video switcher and associated equipment during live sporting events and will work with the Creative Producer and other staff members in planning and implementing the live feed, videos and graphic materials, both pre-game and on the fly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Technical direction and video switcher operation using Broadcast Pix switcher
  • Implement visual elements during live shows including proper graphics and video
  • Test and prepare systems and equipment for use prior to events
  • Prepare and route video and audio sources
  • Offer technical and creative solutions to execute the overall vision for live productions
  • Communicate show elements during live productions
  • Properly operate, maintain and protect assigned equipment
  • Properly strike and store equipment as designated
WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Ability to think quickly and keep pace with fast-moving live sporting events
  • Experience with Broadcast Pix switcher or similar equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as event scripts
  • Experience using video cameras and other AV production equipment
  • Experience using video editing software
  • Be customer service oriented with a fan-friendly attitude and professional appearance at all times
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours or more
  • Able to stoop and bend
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds from time to time
  • Able to safely work with potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment
  • Able to comply with safety and health code standards
  • Able to handle responsibilities that require repetitive motion tasks
