Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and direction for assigned system development safety activities
  • Evaluate and coordinate missile and weapon system safety concepts
  • Develop and refine software safety criteria and standards
  • Perform independent safety analyses, studies, and design evaluations of systems and subsystems
  • Ensure proper implementation of risk management processes across weapon system lifecycles
  • Oversee execution of programmatic software safety activities
  • Ensure safety requirements are properly included in hazardous item contracts
  • Provide software engineering support during fielding and sustainment phases
  • Support safety compliance across research, development, testing, and deployment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 15+ years of recent, relevant experience (In lieu of degree: 19+ years of related experience considered)
  • Secret Clearance required (or ability to obtain); U.S. Citizenship required
  • Extensive experience supporting DoD weapon systems or related programs
