Job description

Role Overview:
This role is for a Lead Quality / Software Development Engineer (SDET) focusing on software quality engineering, test automation, and leading distributed QA/SDET teams. The position requires strong hands-on experience in functional, regression, and end-to-end testing, with a focus on modern automation frameworks and API testing, ensuring high-quality software delivery in fast-paced Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate strong hands-on experience in Software Quality Engineering, functional testing, regression testing, and end-to-end testing.
  • Utilize strong test automation experience using Cypress or a comparable modern automation framework.
  • Perform hands-on scripting in JavaScript or TypeScript for automation development.
  • Conduct web application testing across multiple browsers and user journeys.
  • Execute API testing using Postman, REST API tools, Swagger, REST Assured, or equivalent.
  • Create test strategy, test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution reports.
  • Convert manual regression scenarios into automated test suites.
  • Manage defect lifecycle including defect management, root cause analysis, retesting, and production release validation.
  • Work effectively within Agile / Scrum delivery models and participate in sprint ceremonies.
  • Utilize CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Lead distributed QA / SDET teams across onsite and offshore models.
  • Maintain strong communication with business, technology, product, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Define QA approach, automation roadmap, governance, metrics, and delivery cadence.
  • Mentor Quality Engineers and review test cases, automation scripts, and defect quality.
  • Exhibit a strong ownership mindset with risk identification, dependency management, and proactive escalation.
  • Ensure accountability for release readiness and quality outcomes in fast-paced Agile delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Senior / Lead resources should preferably have 8+ years of experience with ownership of QA deliverables, automation strategy, and stakeholder communication.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in Digital, Retail, Healthcare, Pharmacy, or customer-facing enterprise platforms.
