Job description

Description:Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned, forward-thinking Quality Assurance Manager to drive the technical strategy and execution for the Hijack Poker app’s delivery pipeline. This role is both strategic and hands-on: you will guide our technical delivery aspects, including the design and implementation of our end-to-end testing framework, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and release validation workflows.

At Hijack Poker, we move fast. We need a leader who doesn't just rely on legacy QA methodologies, but actively leverages cutting-edge AI tools for productivity, automated test generation, and pipeline optimization.

This role requires someone with a deep understanding of delivering high-integrity solutions for platforms requiring 24/7 availability, exceptional technical leadership, and ideally, experience in high-stakes environments like mobile gaming or fintech.

Note: This is an on-site/hybrid position based out of our Austin, Texas office. We are looking for a collaborative leader who thrives in a localized, high-energy team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • AI & Automation Strategy: Architect and optimize our automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines, actively integrating AI-driven testing tools (e.g., AI copilots for code generation, autonomous testing agents, and predictive analytics) to multiply team output and velocity.
  • Technical Delivery & Release Engineering: Define and implement the technical delivery strategy and roadmap across mobile (iOS/Android) and web platforms. Own the technical release readiness and sign-off process for all app deployments.
  • Team Leadership & Upskilling: Lead and mentor the QA and delivery teams. Actively champion the adoption of AI productivity tools within the department to automate repetitive tasks and document complex game logic.
  • Pipeline & Tools Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize delivery tools, pipelines, and dashboards in close collaboration with Engineering and DevOps to ensure maximum uptime (24/7) and flawless real-time gameplay.
  • Incident & Issue Management: Establish robust issue management workflows integrated with Jira. Ensure efficient triaging, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional communication during rapid deployment cycles.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to troubleshoot complex game-state issues and ensure smooth, high-quality, continuous releases.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 7–10+ years in technical software quality engineering or technical delivery, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership capacity.
  • AI & Modern Tooling Expertise: Proven track record of evaluating, implementing, and utilizing modern AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, test automation tools like Applitools, Mabl, or similar AI-assisted QA platforms) to accelerate the SDLC.
  • Mobile & Web Automation: Strong experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks for complex mobile and real-time platforms using tools like Appium, Selenium, Playwright, and modern scripting languages.
  • CI/CD Mastery: Deep understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment principles, infrastructure as code (IaC), and integrating automated quality gates into the pipeline.
  • High-Availability Focus: Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment focused on maintaining stateful, highly available systems with stringent uptime requirements.
  • Communication & Presence: Exceptional cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to lead local teams and collaborate seamlessly with on-site stakeholders.
Bonus Experience
  • Prior experience in mobile gaming, poker/gambling apps, fintech, or environments with complex, real-time game logic.
  • Deep understanding of security considerations, load testing, and performance testing for 24/7 platforms.
