Retail Success is looking for an automated Quality Assurance Engineer (hybrid) to join our Overland Park, KS team. This position is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts that support software product development and project releases.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field is strongly preferred;
  • Minimum 2+ years' related work experience in software quality assurance required, with at least 1 year focused on test automation preferred.
  • Experience programming or scripting in one or more languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, C#) required.

This is a W-2 position. Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization.
Work Location:
  • This position works a hybrid schedule (3 days in office/2 days work from home) in our Overland Park, Kansas office. Candidates must reside in the Kansas City metropolitan area or be willing to relocate without assistance.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web, mobile, and API testing.
  • Define, update, and execute automated test cases; convert manual test cases into automated suites where appropriate.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) to support continuous testing and delivery.
  • Test and troubleshoot across various development and production environments.
  • Identify defects, document steps to reproduce, and write bug tickets in Jira.
  • Execute and maintain automated regression suites as part of pre-release activities.
  • Troubleshoot data integrity, performance, and usability issues in software applications.
  • Review logs and test automation results to support troubleshooting and defect identification.
  • Analyze test results and automation failures to distinguish product defects from test/environment issues.
  • Lead or support release day test activities.
  • Proactively communicate test-blocking and release-blocking issues to the team.
  • Communicate progress, roadblocks, and solutions to the team.
  • Meet deadlines as defined by the sprint cadence; proactively contribute feedback in sprint meetings.
  • Assist with suggestions on UI/UX design and usability.
  • Document test details, automation coverage, and oddities for future reference.
  • Continually seek ways to improve the quality, reliability, and coverage of automated testing across the software development cycle.

Essential Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency with test automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress) and scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#)
  • Working knowledge of test methodologies (functional, regression, UI/usability) and API testing tools
  • Comfortable across Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android environments, plus general networking/computing know-how
  • Experience with version control (Git) and defect/test tracking systems
  • Working knowledge of SQL or similar query languages
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Clear communicator who works well cross-functionally and takes initiative on problems and opportunities

Non-Required Competencies
  • Experience with Appium, Postman, Zephyr Scale, or Charles Proxy
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, JIRA, and Git-based workflows
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
  • iOS/Android development tool experience
  • Experience with third-party integrations
