Job Summary

As a Software Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving requirements and executing software projects on prem and in the cloud.

Job Description

We are looking for a Software Project Manager to develop and execute project plans, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project scope, timelines, resources, and stakeholder communications, and ensure successful delivery of technology initiatives from project planning through implementation. This position will be full-time and onsite in Woodbridge, NJ. This position may pivot to hybrid after several months.

Only work authorizations not requiring sponsorship now or in the future will be considered.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that align customer requirements with organizational objectives and coordinate business users, managers, and technical teams throughout all project phases from initiation through go-live

  • Define project scope and objectives while engaging key stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Communicate project status, risks, expectations, and milestones to project teams and stakeholders in a timely and effective manner

  • Monitor project progress and provide detailed reporting on milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and overall project health

  • Coordinate team activities, assign responsibilities, and provide direction to support successful project execution

  • Identify project budget, resource, and staffing requirements to ensure desired outcomes are achieved

  • Work closely with departments across the organization to ensure deliverables are completed within scope and timeline expectations

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project components remain aligned and compatible with business and technical requirements

  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and develop requirements traceability documentation and related project artifacts

  • Lead workshops to capture business and technical requirements and support documentation development and user training efforts

  • Review and update policies and procedures to support evolving business needs and project objectives

  • Ensure project milestones are achieved on schedule and escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders when necessary

  • Apply project management methodologies to identify and resolve project challenges while maintaining delivery timelines

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or a related field

  • 8-10 years of project management experience including leading software (on prem on in the cloud) projects (with or without requirements)

  • Strong experience leading projects with a software and functional hardware component, including leading discovery efforts or fact-finding efforts

  • Knowledge of JIRA project management and service desk tools

  • Experience with Microsoft Project

  • Ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups

  • Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting

  • Understanding of project management methodologies and best practices

Preferred:

  • Tolling or transportation project or industry experience is a plus

  • Project management certification

  • Experience leading technology implementation projects

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
