Job description

Everforth ECS is seeking a Lead Software Programmer - SME to work in our Washington, DC office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
We are seeking a cleared Software Programmer SME to provide expert-level software engineering, application modernization, DevSecOps, and technical leadership for classified and sensitive law enforcement, national security, and criminal justice programs within the National Security Business Unit. The Software Programmer SME will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for complex application design, secure development, integration, CI/CD maturity, production issue resolution, software engineering standards, technical mentoring, and modernization strategy.
The Software Developer SME will provide expert-level software development, architecture, modernization, and technical leadership for complex mission applications supporting law enforcement, national security, and criminal justice programs. This role will guide secure software delivery across the full lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design through development, testing, deployment, sustainment, and modernization.
The Software Developer SME will also contribute to National Security Business Unit growth by shaping application modernization roadmaps, advising on emerging mission needs, supporting proposal and capture solutioning, identifying new technical service areas, and helping position the account for expanded software engineering and mission application support.
Responsibilities
  • Lead complex application architecture, development, integration, modernization, and sustainment efforts.
  • Develop complex features, integrations, APIs, data services, and mission application capabilities.
  • Advise on secure coding, design patterns, DevSecOps, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and release practices.
  • Resolve high-priority production issues and guide technical troubleshooting.
  • Improve code quality, test automation, delivery velocity, and application maintainability.
  • Lead design reviews, code reviews, estimation sessions, release planning, and technical decision-making.
  • Mentor software developers, technical leads, testers, and application support personnel.
  • Support proposal solutioning, capture activities, technical strategy, staffing recommendations, and account-growth initiatives.

Salary Range: $170,000-$185,000
