Program Info

Acenda's School-Based Youth Services (SBYS) operates within host schools and is available before, during, and after school hours, connecting students with community resources and support. All youth are eligible, with services spanning mental health counseling, employment counseling, substance use education and prevention, preventative health and pregnancy awareness, primary medical linkages, learning support, healthy youth development, recreation, and information and referral for additional resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and facilitating student groups, workshops, and school-based activities that promote social, emotional, and academic success.
  • Support daily program operations by calling students down for appointments, distributing and tracking passes, sending reminders, and assisting with student sign-ins and scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, collect program data, and participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, Education, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in working with adolescents and diverse populations in a school based setting.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
