Job Description:

  • Evaluates prescribed imaging and makes requested changes within 24 hours, accurately documenting treatment information in the patient electronic record and utilizing the record and verify system.
  • Reviews all new starts for consistency prior to treatment, verifying patient positioning and field orientation, and checking the record and verify system for prescription, treatment parameters, doses, treatment accessories, and monitor units.
  • Performs morning Quality Assurance (QA) on the treatment unit, assessing whether all equipment is operating according to physics policy and calling the appropriate person immediately after equipment malfunctions.
  • Assists in maintaining department supplies and provides supervised education experiences for students that fulfill curriculum requirements of the academic institution.
  • As required by facility, participates in after hours on-call coverage, maintains competency with afterhours treatment coverage, performs 2D treatment calculations, and works with minimal direction and supervision.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Computer literate
• Proficiency in Electronic Health Records and record and verify systems
• Knowledge of anatomical structures for localization
• Technical skills to accomplish treatment plans proposed by Radiation Oncologists
• Ability to learn and use Radiation Therapy software packages
Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Technical/Vocational School [Required]
Field of Study:
• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiation Therapy program
Work Experience:
• 1+ radiation therapy experience [Preferred]
Additional Information:
• N/A
Licenses and Certifications:
Certified Radiologic Technologists (CRT) [Required] OR
• Registered Technologist - Radiography (R.T.(R)ARRT)) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
