Job Description Project Manager - Electric Utilities Capital Projects (Lexington, KY) Position Summary The Project Manager is the single point of accountability for large capital projects, including Transmission, Distribution, and Substation. This role oversees the entire project lifecycle-from planning and design to construction and operational turnover-for a project portfolio valued up to $100 million. The Project Manager ensures scope, budget, and timelines are met while fostering collaboration with internal teams, leadership, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities Lead a portfolio of complex projects (low to extreme complexity; multi-month to multi-year durations). Develop and maintain comprehensive Project Management Plans (scope, schedule, cost, risks, communication, quality, resources, etc.). Utilize Primavera P6 for work breakdown structures, resource assignments, and schedule development

Ensure effective communication with internal leadership and customer organizations regarding project status and risk. Direct cross-functional teams across engineering, construction, procurement, and operations. Analyze project risks, schedule variances, and implement mitigation plans proactively.

Coordinate and manage all third-party contractors and major contracts, including invoice oversight and dispute resolution. Manage budget forecasting, cost tracking, cash flows, and reporting. Support and mentor junior staff and actively lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain complete and accurate project documentation. Fulfill Electric Utilities emergency and storm assignment duties as needed. Support development and implementation of PMO policies, standards, and procedures.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree with a minimum 4 years of project management experience, OR Master's degree with a minimum 2 years of project management experience, OR Minimum 8 years of directly related industry experience. Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and reporting. In-depth knowledge of PMI's PMBOK methodology.

10+ years of experience managing complex projects, including Project Controls experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Science. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or a similar recognized credential.

Experience in the electric utility sector and familiarity with transmission and substation equipment. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and team collaboration capabilities.

Proficiency in engineering economics, cost/schedule risk assessment, and management. Strong customer-facing skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
