New Way Trucks is currently seeking a Drafter Designer to join our Booneville, MS manufacturing team. This position is responsible for drafting various types of projects incorporated into the manufacturing process.

Your Role in our Mission:

  • Prepares drawings made to scale with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Creates bill of materials for company-manufactured products.
  • Documents procedures to complete product assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Maintains an up-to-date drawing system with all information properly filed and recorded.
  • Reports problems to the Engineering Manager to assure timely development of projects.
  • Works with welders and production lines on parts changes and design modifications.
  • Working with other departments on projects.
  • Resolves issues related to quality, design and time savings initiatives.
  • Communicates with all production areas to ensure all information is correct and needed changes made.

To Perform this Job Successfully:

  • Minimum one-year mechanical drafting experience w/advanced computer-aided drafting knowledge.
  • Degree in mechanical drafting preferred.
  • Math skills including algebra, geometry, trigonometry and weights & measures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Works well with people at all levels of the company.
  • Ability to convert conceptual designs into functional drawings and/or scale models.
  • Ability to analyze parts, components and products to facilitate drawings that incorporate all required information needed to produce such items.
  • Ability to efficiently use the following software packages: Windows, Excel, Word, Access, Solid Works and Auto Cad 2000.
  • Ability to learn and work in Epicor as an operating system.
