Job description

Northwind Health is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help build innovative software solutions, contribute to our technical and architectural direction, and shape the future of the Northwind Platform.

As the Northwind Platform continues to evolve, we're looking for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, building high-quality software, and collaborating with Product Management and Architecture to deliver solutions that make a meaningful impact. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical decisions, modernize our platform, mentor fellow engineers, and champion engineering best practices while remaining deeply involved in hands-on software development.

If you're passionate about innovation, continuous improvement, and building technology that improves the lives of the members we serve, we'd love to have you join our team.

This can be a remote role, but will have occasional travel.  Candidates must reside in Central or Eastern Time Zone.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions across the Northwind Platform.
  • Partner with Product Management and the VP of Architecture to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business goals and architectural standards.
  • Contribute to technical and architectural decisions by evaluating implementation approaches, identifying trade-offs, and recommending improvements that enhance scalability, performance, maintainability, and security.
  • Develop new features, integrations, and platform modernization initiatives that support the product roadmap.
  • Evaluate and implement AI-driven capabilities, modern engineering tools, and emerging technologies that improve developer productivity, operational efficiency, and user experience.
  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Champion engineering best practices, including clean code, automated testing, secure development, documentation, and consistent development standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues, providing technical expertise throughout analysis and resolution.
  • Contribute to planning, estimation, and implementation efforts by identifying technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Architecture, QA, and Data Engineering to deliver reliable, high-quality software.
  • Continuously improve platform performance, reliability, maintainability, engineering processes, and development tooling.

Technical Skills & Experience

Required

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience building enterprise applications.
  • Strong proficiency with C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core Web API, and Angular.
  • Experience building cloud-native applications in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience designing and developing scalable applications using SQL Server and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience mentoring developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Management and Architecture to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Experience building secure, enterprise-grade applications, preferably within regulated industries.

Preferred

  • Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, SSO, MFA, and identity platforms such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with React Native and Expo.
  • Experience designing and developing microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with messaging platforms and asynchronous processing.
  • Experience building SaaS and multi-tenant applications.
  • Experience evaluating or implementing AI-assisted development tools and AI-enabled software capabilities.
  • Healthcare, pharmacy, PBM, or health benefits administration experience.
  • Familiarity with HL7 FHIR standards.
  • Experience working in HIPAA, SOC 2, or HITRUST regulated environments.
