Job description

Position Summary:
The EHSQ Supervisor leads and facilitates Dexter Laundry's adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards across the facility. This role oversees the Quality Assurance Team and ensures compliance with ISO 9001, maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and Dexter Laundry's internal standards. The Supervisor manages the end of line inspection database, the use of Tumeke ergonomic software, maintains compliance documentation, and drives continuous improvement in safety, environmental stewardship, and product quality.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Maintain accurate environmental recordkeeping in accordance with federal, state, local, and company requirements.
  • Monitor and implement updates to OSHA, EPA, and DNR guidelines.
  • Utilizes Tumeke software to drive ergonomic improvements
  • Coordinate safety promotions, activities, and facility-wide awareness initiatives.
  • Partner with the Safety Committee to reinforce a proactive safety culture.
  • Conduct and support training activities, including formal presentations.
  • Research and recommend new safety-related products, equipment, and services.

Quality Assurance Leadership
  • Lead the Quality Assurance Team ensuring daily QA/QC tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain Dexter Laundry's ISO 9001 certification, ensuring systems, documentation, and processes remain compliant.
  • Manage the end-of-line inspection database, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timely reporting.
  • Establish and maintain systems ensuring product and process compliance with customer, agency, and Dexter requirements.
  • Plan, schedule, and document internal and external audits to verify compliance with ISO 9001 and other standards.
  • Coordinate calibration systems and inspection of incoming and internal parts.
  • Support production, engineering, and purchasing in evaluating product acceptability and resolving quality issues.
  • Partner with Supervisors, Production Trainer, and HR to identify job skills, training needs, and competency requirements.
  • Assist QA employees and production team members in assessing quality problems and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Customer Service, and Purchasing to improve processes and achieve quality goals.
  • Lead and support company-wide continuous improvement initiatives in safety, environmental compliance, and quality.

General
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Operations Manager.

Competencies
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and PPAP.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Ability to apply continuous improvement methods to enhance processes and functions.
  • Strong computer skills, including database management, spreadsheets, and quality-related software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data and identify trends.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Experience
  • BA/BS in Engineering, Quality, Business, or related field; or four years of equivalent experience.
  • Three to five years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with safety programs, environmental compliance, and quality management systems is strongly preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Occasional sitting, standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing.
  • Occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Noise level is typically light to moderate.
  • Travel less than 5%.
