You'll tackle projects that make a real difference-including empowering users with CIRA Cybersecurity Awareness Training, securing household and enterprise networks through CIRA Canadian Shield and DNS Firewall, or defending against DDoS attacks with Anycast DNS. What you'll do:


  • Lead the design and development of extended detection and response (XDR) and DNS-based cybersecurity products and backend services using modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Turn security and business requirements into secure, scalable software solutions.
  • Implement secure coding practices aligned with industry standards such as the Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP).
  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior and intermediate developers to uphold software quality and security standards.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity analysts, DevOps and infrastructure teams across CIRA.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, along with automated testing, deployment and monitoring in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues related to application performance, security vulnerabilities and system interoperability.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions to inform system evolution and technical decision-making.
  • Write and maintain clear technical documentation for systems, processes and deployments.
  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule to support service uptime and incident response.

What you bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Java (Spring or Play Framework) or Python.
  • Proficiency in Linux environments and scripting with Bash for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of secure application design, threat mitigation and authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins or TeamCity.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development, containerization technologies such as Docker and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Understanding of DNS, networking protocols and their role in internet infrastructure.
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts and technologies, including endpoint detection and response (EDR), extended detection and response (XDR), vulnerability scanners, firewalls and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.

Vos taches:


  • Diriger la conception et le developpement de produits de cybersecurite fondes sur la detection et la reponse etendues (XDR), ainsi que de services dorsaux axes sur le DNS, a l'aide de langages de programmation et de cadres de developpement modernes.
  • Transformer les exigences de securite et d'affaires en solutions logicielles securisees et evolutives.
  • Mettre en uvre des pratiques de codage securitaire conformes aux normes de l'industrie, notamment celles de l'Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP).
  • Effectuer des revisions de code et encadrer les developpeurses debutantes et intermediaires afin de maintenir les normes de qualite et de securite des logiciels.
  • Collaborer etroitement avec les equipes d'analystes en cybersecurite, de DevOps et d'infrastructure de CIRA.
  • Soutenir les pipelines d'integration continue et de livraison continue (CI/CD), ainsi que les processus automatises de tests, de deploiement et de surveillance dans des environnements infonuagiques et hybrides.
  • Enqueter sur les problemes complexes lies aux performances des applications, aux failles de securite et a l'interoperabilite des systemes, et les resoudre.
  • Participer aux discussions sur l'architecture et la conception afin d'eclairer l'evolution des systemes et la prise de decisions techniques.
  • Rediger et tenir a jour une documentation technique claire pour les systemes, les processus et les deploiements.
  • Participer a une rotation de garde 24heures sur 24, 7jours sur 7, afin d'assurer la disponibilite des services et de soutenir les interventions en cas d'incident.

Vos antecedents:


  • Baccalaureat en informatique, en genie logiciel ou dans un domaine technique connexe.
  • Au moins sept ans d'experience professionnelle en developpement de logiciels.
  • Maitrise approfondie des langages de programmation tels que Java (Spring ou Play Framework) ou Python.
  • Maitrise des environnements Linux et des scripts Bash pour l'automatisation et le depannage.
  • Solide connaissance de la conception d'applications securisees, de l'attenuation des menaces ainsi que des mecanismes d'authentification et d'autorisation.
  • Experience de la mise en place et du soutien de pipelines CI/CD a l'aide d'outils comme GitLab CI, Jenkins ou TeamCity.
  • Connaissance du developpement infonuagique natif, des technologies de conteneurisation comme Docker et des outils d'infrastructure en tant que code, comme Terraform ou Ansible.
  • Bonne comprehension du DNS, des protocoles reseau et de leur role dans l'infrastructure Internet.
  • Experience de travail avec des bases de donnees relationnelles et non relationnelles, comme PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB ou des technologies similaires.
