ACI is a Woman-Owned Small Business professional services provider of engineering and technical services to the United States Government. We seek an experienced Software Engineer to serve as part of ACI’s team supporting the Network Operations Automation Prototyping program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As an ACI Software Engineer - Level II you will be an integral to the team's success while performing the following functions: 
  • Build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design. 
  • Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications. 
  • Support and/or install software applications/operating systems. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software.
  •  Serve as a subject matter expert for all computer and software related aspects of assigned to the program.
  • Design and implement software solutions for back-end and front-end development for interactive web/mobile applications.
  • Perform engineering and scientific work involving the design, development, and operation of man portable computer systems, including hardware and software and their integration with other systems and peripherals.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of the work being performed, a candidate must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field and eight (8) years of experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and no experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in software development, and all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Experienced with Agile framework and ability to apply best practices using industry standards.
  • Understand TCP/IP and UDP/Multicast networking.
  • 5+ years Software Development or Systems Engineering in a professional environment.
  • Proficient in Java, C++, or Python development.
  • Experience with Javascript and Web Development
  • Source code control w/ Git.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and development teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing to convey Development strategy and integration activities.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and contributing to technical documentation.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations and supporting customer engagement locations.
