The contributions you will make:

This position is responsible for building, leading, and evolving high-performing software engineering teams accountable for delivering scalable, resilient, and high-quality technology solutions aligned to organizational priorities. Operates as both a technical leader and people leader, fostering a culture of ownership, engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement through coaching, mentorship, and talent development. Accountable for team-level technical direction, architecture alignment, and execution quality, this role guides engineering practices across the software development lifecycle, optimizes delivery flow, removes impediments, and supports adoption of modern engineering practices and technologies including cloud-native development, automation, and AI-assisted engineering capabilities that improve developer productivity, quality, and delivery effectiveness.

A typical day:

  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team through hiring, onboarding, performance management, workforce planning, coaching, talent development, and oversight of third-party engineering resources as needed to ensure delivery of team objectives and continued growth of engineering capability.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of technology solutions by establishing priorities, removing blockers, managing dependencies, coordinating internal and thirdparty resources, and maintaining accountability for delivery commitments, quality, and execution outcomes.
  • Guide team-level technical direction and engineering practices, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, scalability, security, maintainability,
    and long-term supportability requirements.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence by strengthening team effectiveness, addressing
    friction points, and supporting organizational change initiatives.
  • Partner with product, business, and technology stakeholders to align priorities, provide input on feasibility and capacity, and support delivery of business objectives through effective cross-team coordination.
  • Improve team-level processes, workflows, and engineering practices to enhance delivery effectiveness, predictability, quality, and operational efficiency.

The skills and experience we prefer you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience, including designing and delivering complex software solutions required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct people leadership experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical direction, including architecture and design decisions, for a team or domain required.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with product, business, and technology stakeholders required.
  • Highly developed leadership capability to build, lead, and grow high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, inclusion, continuous learning, resilience, and psychological safety through coaching, mentorship, authentic leadership, and clear performance
    expectations.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence technical direction within a team or domain, guiding architecture and design decisions while balancing scalability, performance, security, reliability, maintainability, and business objectives.
  • Advanced ability to support adoption and maturation of modern engineering practices and emerging technologies, including cloud-native development, automation, CI/CD, DevSecOps, agile product delivery practices, test automation, and AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, quality, scalability, and delivery effectiveness while demonstrating curiosity, continuous learning, and adaptability in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
  • Trusted advisor to engineers and stakeholders on complex technical and business challenges, effectively translating technical concepts into business impact and supporting informed product and technology decisions.
  • Proven ability to optimize execution and delivery effectiveness by establishing efficient engineering practices, identifying and removing systemic bottlenecks, and improving predictability, quality, and flow of work.
  • Advanced collaboration and influence skills to align cross-functional teams, manage dependencies, and drive coordinated delivery of complex initiatives in support of organizational priorities.
  • Strong ability to translate business objectives into team-level priorities and measurable delivery outcomes while balancing technical feasibility, capacity, and long-term maintainability.
  • Solid understanding of software development practices, delivery frameworks, and engineering methodologies, with the ability to assess effort, risk, and operational impact within the team's domain.
  • Proven ability to lead change by translating organizational vision into team-level action, helping team members adapt to evolving priorities, technologies, and ways of working while maintaining engagement and focus on outcomes.

The actual title and base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.

Base Pay
$118,500—$180,000 USD
