Job Summary:
Procom is a leading provider of professional IT services and staffing to businesses and governments in Canada. They are seeking a Software Engineer to develop software for currency handling devices and provide technical support for OEM customer software development efforts.
Responsibilities:
β€’ Software development, pre-sales and post-sales technical support for OEM currency handling products.
β€’ Software Development – Develop software and tools to provide a feature rich middleware layer (ex. device diagnostics, error recovery, statistical analysis, maintenance software tools, etc.) supporting well defined interface layer for OEM customer application software.
β€’ Technical training – Conduct and continuously develop software and hardware technical training classes as required for OEM clients and distribution channels. Provide training for and support product integration.
β€’ Technical support - Responsible for pre-sales and post-sales software development and hardware support to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and sales reseller / distribution channels in USA and Latin America.
β€’ Travel to support sales/customers 20% of the time.
β€’ Adhere to company policies, ISO requirements, safety, and quality workmanship.
β€’ Customarily and regularly exercises independent discretion and judgment.
Qualifications:
Required:
β€’ 5+ years development experience in C#, Visual C++
β€’ Experience with Visual Studio 2008(Visual C++, C#).
β€’ Understanding of Visual Studio 6.0 (unmanaged environment)
β€’ Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
β€’ Excellent organizational skills.
β€’ Excellent communication skills.
β€’ Ability to prioritize, manage, and handle multiple tasks at one time.
β€’ Be self-motivated and work well within a small diverse group of individuals.
β€’ Quickly become the technical expert within the group and be able to effectively communicate with account sales personnel and customers.
β€’ Must be able to travel (up to 20%) meeting and supporting customers and potential customers as required, both domestically and internationally.
β€’ Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent from accredited college.
Preferred:
β€’ Experience in Azure Development is a plus
β€’ Preferred experience and interest in currency handling equipment, mechatronics, systems engineering and software development.
β€’ Bilingual – Japanese or Spanish is a plus.
