Role Overview
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is responsible for designing, developing, and executing scalable testing solutions that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of mission-critical platforms. This role blends software engineering skills with testing expertise to drive an automation-first quality engineering strategy. You will partner with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to embed testing early in the development lifecycle and enable continuous delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies aligned to business requirements and user stories.
  • Build and maintain robust automated test frameworks and scripts (UI, API, and backend) using Selenium and Java.
  • Develop and execute end-to-end, integration, regression, and performance test scenarios.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to validate data integrity and backend processes.
  • Work with developers to pick up code logic and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Create and maintain test data to handle various test scenarios including corner test cases.
  • Ensure traceability from requirements through test cases to automation coverage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks, resolve defects, and improve quality outcomes.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket) to enable continuous testing.
  • Analyze test results, track defects, and provide clear, actionable reporting on quality metrics.
  • Manage test environments, test data, and dependencies to ensure smooth execution cycles.
  • Drive best practices in quality engineering, automation, and test design across teams.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in software testing, automation, or quality engineering.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or a similar object-oriented language.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium or an equivalent.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data validation techniques.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
