Job description

Engineer III
US - Lehi, Utah (Remote-friendly)
RLDatix is on a mission to transform care delivery worldwide, ensuring every patient receives the safest, highest-quality care. Through our innovative Healthcare Operations Platform, we're connecting data to unlock trusted insights that enable improved decision-making and help deliver safer healthcare for all.
Job Description
RLDatix (RLD) is on a mission to help raise the standard of care...everywhere. Trusted by over 10,000 healthcare organizations around the world, our solutions help improve health and care. Our applications ensure that patients receive the best and safest care while supporting the providers who deliver it. Joining TeamRLD means being part of a global effort of over 2,000 team members in making a difference in healthcare...every day.
We're searching for a US-based Engineer III to join our OneSource product team, so that we can strengthen and evolve the platform that helps hospitals quickly find the manufacturer documentation they need - including instructions for use, safety data sheets, and operating and service manuals. The Engineer III will own backend-heavy, full-stack development across a complex document-ingestion, metadata, search, and integrations platform - translating a highly detailed, document-centric backend into a practical, equipment-centric search experience for healthcare users.
How You'll Spend Your Time
  • Own backend-heavy, full-stack feature development across OneSource - writing PHP application code, MySQL data work, API integrations, and targeted frontend fixes - in order to deliver both new capabilities and technical maintenance in a roughly 50/50 balance

  • Trace behavior through a layered, framework-based application (October CMS on Laravel and Symfony) - navigating event- and hook-driven workflows, indirect code paths, and rich data relationships - in order to independently deliver features at the component level

  • Design and evolve search, integration, and API touchpoints (OpenSearch/ElasticSearch and third-party APIs) to keep the platform reliable and performant as data volumes and use cases grow

  • Diagnose and resolve moderately complex issues across the application, data layer, and automated deployment pipelines - troubleshooting failures well enough to remediate or direct escalation appropriately

  • Contribute to modernization initiatives as the roadmap matures - including frontend modernization into a decoupled SPA architecture, Python-based AI pipelines and product integrations, and infrastructure evolution - using AI development tools pragmatically while maintaining ownership of technical decisions and code quality

What Kind of Things We're Most Interested in You Having
  • 4-6+ years of professional software development experience with strong PHP and MySQL capability (MySQL proficiency is essential - candidates without it will struggle in this role)

  • Proven success working in layered MVC frameworks with complex, event- or hook-driven behavior (Laravel, Symfony, October CMS, or comparable framework-based applications - not simply isolated scripts or lightweight SPAs)

  • In-depth knowledge on how to inherit and improve complex business applications - untangling relational data models, workflow-heavy systems, integrations, search, and legacy-to-modernization efforts

  • Cloud and infrastructure fluency, especially Kubernetes (the environment runs on Kubernetes in AWS, with infrastructure managed as code through Terraform in Git); comparable cloud experience beyond AWS is welcome

  • Practical Python experience supporting automation, AI, or backend services (dedicated AI specialization not required, but Python fluency is important)

  • Ability to commute to the Lehi office for occasional collaboration; travel expected 0-5% for offsites, training, or planning sessions

  • Sincere interest in building software that directly improves patient safety, and comfort translating a complex internal data model into a simple external user experience

  • A knack for working self-directedly on a small, lean team - reviewing documentation, asking targeted questions, and delivering without close handholding

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Docker, Terraform, OpenSearch/ElasticSearch, automated CI/CD, and AI integration or agent-building experience are strong pluses but not required

By enabling flexibility in how we work and prioritizing employee wellness, we empower our team to do and be their best. Our benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401K, paid time off, and paid holidays. RLDatix is an equal opportunity employer, and our employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, age, gender, national origin, disability, handicap, marital status or any other status or condition protected by Federal and/or State laws. If reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in either step, please don't hesitate to send a note to Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including location, relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
