Software Engineer II

Job Family: Group Engineering / Product Development โ€“ Individual Contributor โ€“ Management Level โ€“ Flexible Work Option (Hybrid, remote part of the week permitted). Location: Atlanta, GA (Inโ€‘office 2 days a week required).

Compensation

Base salary in the range of $89,400.00 โ€“ $134,000.00. Salary is adjustable within this range based on location, qualifications, and experience. Position may be eligible for additional compensation through incentive programs.

Job Description

As a Software Engineer II, you will own features, contribute to architecture and design decisions, and mentor earlyโ€‘career engineers. You will operate within an agile team and build productionโ€‘ready systems with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and cloudโ€‘native development.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain highโ€‘quality software applications that meet user story requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Own mediumโ€‘sized features from design through production release, independently breaking down work.
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and endโ€‘toโ€‘end tests; improve CI/CD pipelines.
  • Build reliable, scalable cloudโ€‘native services using AWS services, following security and observability best practices.
  • Implement mobile and/or crossโ€‘platform application features using Dart and Flutter, delivering performant and maintainable UI and business logic.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; participate in onโ€‘call rotations if applicable.
  • Provide technical guidance to Software Engineer I team members; conduct code reviews and share engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps partners in an agile environment.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute insights to evolve architecture and engineering practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related discipline and 2 yearsโ€™ experience, OR a masterโ€™s degree with up to 2 yearsโ€™ experience, OR 10 yearsโ€™ experience with no degree.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience in production environments.
  • Strong, handsโ€‘on AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, SNS/SQS, CloudWatch, IAM, S3, serverless frameworks, or similar).
  • Proficiency in at least one backend or fullโ€‘stack language (TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or similar).
  • Experience building RESTful APIs, services, or distributed systems.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles: objectโ€‘oriented design, test automation, CI/CD, debugging, and performance considerations.
  • Experience working in agile environments and contributing to design discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing scalable, cloudโ€‘native architectures or serverless applications.
  • Familiarity with container services (Docker, ECS, EKS) or infrastructureโ€‘asโ€‘code tools (Terraform, CDK).
  • Professional experience coding with Dart and Flutter for mobile, crossโ€‘platform, or internal tooling.
  • Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with mobile deployment pipelines (e.g., Firebase App Distribution, TestFlight).
  • Exposure to AIโ€‘assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer, etc.) in production or experimentation contexts.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small development initiatives.
