The Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support an active portfolio of sustaining capital projects within a large-scale Engineering, Procurement & Construction Management (EPCM) program at a major biopharmaceutical manufacturing site. This position plays a critical role in the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of multiple concurrent construction projects, ranging from $100K-$10M, across GMP and non-GMP facility areas. The ideal candidate brings deep field leadership experience, strong multi-project coordination capabilities, and proven success managing construction activities in regulated Biopharma / Life Sciences environments.

Expected: 

  • 10+ years of experience managing construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple concurrent small capital projects ($100K-$10M).
  • Experience managing construction activities within Biopharma, Life Sciences, or other regulated industrial facilities (strongly preferred).
  • Proven capability supervising all construction trades across mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, piping, and process disciplines.
  • Experience managing internal construction teams, including superintendents, EHS, and support staff.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced EPCM environment supporting 10+ active projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, project schedules, design specifications, and other construction documents.
  • High accountability, consistent punctuality, and reliable daily onsite presence.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Proficient with Procore or other similar construction management software.
  • Experience working within an EPCM program structure.
  • Strong understanding of construction in cGMP environments, process systems, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Procore, Hoylu, and/or other similar construction management and scheduling tools.

Typical responsibilities:

Construction & Field Management

  • Lead day-to-day construction oversight for an active portfolio of small-to-mid-scale capital projects across the site.
  • Coordinate and supervise all construction trades, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project requirements.
  • Manage internal construction staff including superintendents, EHS, field engineers, and trade support.
  • Ensure field activities comply with site safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements (cGMP where applicable).
  • Maintain strong daily presence in the field and ensure punctual, reliable onsite support.

Multi-Project Oversight & Coordination

  • Oversee construction execution for 10+ concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with project schedules and constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with onsite Program Manager, Project Managers, program Scheduler, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Controls to maintain synchronized execution.
  • Support construction readiness reviews, design constructability assessments, and early-stage field input during planning.
  • Review and validate contractor scopes, manpower loading, and sequencing to support predictable project outcomes.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead coordination with general contractors, subcontractors, and trade partners to ensure safe and efficient site logistics.
  • Resolve field conflicts quickly through proactive communication and issue escalation as needed.
  • Represent Construction Management in project meetings, design reviews, safety walkthroughs, and commissioning planning sessions.
  • Ensure that contractors meet expectations for productivity, documentation, RFIs, permitting, inspections, and compliance deliverables.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Champion a strong safety culture in collaboration with the EHS Manager and program leadership.
  • Ensure all site work follows applicable SOPs, quality standards, and client-specific construction governance.
  • Support and participate in field audits, quality inspections, and readiness checklists.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate daily field logs, progress tracking, and issue documentation.
  • Provide regular updates to the onsite Project Managers and Program Manager on project status, risks, and resource needs.
  • Support change identification and documentation in coordination with Project Controls.
