The Manager II, Software Development is responsible for leading software engineering teams in the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable software solutions. This role combines people leadership, technical oversight, and project execution to ensure high-quality software delivery aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software applications and services.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and delivery plans.
- Drive execution of development roadmaps, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Promote engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, security, and continuous integration/deployment.
- Manage team capacity, resource allocation, and prioritization of work.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and career development of engineering team members.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, and software development processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, design patterns, and system architecture.
- Experience with modern programming languages and development frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing distributed or cross-functional engineering teams.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
