Reporting Developer III - Cloud Analytics Data Engineer in  GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

Azure Databricks or Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Skillset Requirements:

General:

  • Minimum 3 years experience with Azure Databricks or Python ETL Pipelines
  • Experience with medallion framework architecture and ingesting data from on-premise systems to either Azure Databricks or Microsoft Fabric
  • Expertise in writing production-grade Python code for data ingestion, transformation, and export, including use of unit testing, building reusable frameworks, error handling, disaster recover, and logging frameworks.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate
  • And / Or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate

Either one of the following (Databricks or Microsoft Fabric):

Databricks:

  • Experience managing workspace configurations, user roles, and access controls using Unity Catalog, Databricks CLI,  and Azure Active Directory integration.
  • Proficiency in building and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks Workflows, Declarative Pipelines, Delta Live Tables, and Auto Loader, with monitoring via Databricks Jobs UI and alerts.
  • Experience securely ingesting data from on-premise databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) using CDC and batch based methodologies by extending existing pipelines or creating new pipelines.
  • Experience integrating Databricks notebooks and workflows into DevOps pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Databricks Asset Bundles.

Microsoft Fabric:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Lakehouse and Warehouse architecture and security
  • Proven ability to configure pipelines, pipeline coordination, and pipeline monitoring
  • Semantic modeling and Power BI experience


 

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 6 years relevant business/technical experience to include three (3) years specific reporting, data analytics, or related technical development/deployment experience. Master's Degree may be used to offset one (1) year of experience; PhD may offset two (2) years of experience. Position Purpose: This is a data and analytics development role within the Gulfstream Business Technology organization for the Enterprise Reporting team. This role directly supports the suite of Gulfstream Enterprise Reporting applications. Responsible for developing requirements, solution development, testing, deployment, and support of enterprise reporting solutions.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Engages stakeholders and technology users in identifying, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
  2. Ensures applications processes are followed consistently and are in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, standards, etc.
  3. Performs normal administration tasks and system maintenance for reporting and data analytics applications and solutions.
  4. Documents, develops, tests, deploys, and supports reporting and data analytics development using a variety of technical tools in support of business requirements.
Additional Functions:
  1. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings concerning specific projects or other activities. .
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. Experience with Agile development methodology and working on an agile team preferred.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies (SDLC).
  3. Experience in conducting testing including design and execution of test cases.
  4. Demonstrated capability to understand data structures and create effective visualizations and reports that drive business insight and value.
  5. Excellent presentation design and delivery skills.
  6. Ability to lead/facilitate cross-functional teams and meetings.
A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer. This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
