Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Partner with business leaders, Product Management, software development leadership, and stakeholders to translate high-level objectives into actionable technical roadmaps, scalable architecture, and measurable business value.
  • Define and evolve enterprise architecture strategy, architectural patterns, and technical guardrails to maximize performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, security, and long-term system health.
  • Chair cross-team architecture reviews and establish design standards, architecture decision records, documentation expectations, and governance practices that reduce technical debt and unify engineering practices.
  • Lead architectural planning for complex cross-system changes spanning microservices, front-end applications, middleware, APIs, data flows, event-driven patterns, third-party integrations, and back-end systems.
  • Guide cloud, platform, infrastructure, and security architecture in partnership with DevOps, Information Security, operations, and development teams to safeguard customer and company data.
  • Serve as the senior technical escalation point for high-priority system failures, performance anomalies, reliability issues, integration problems, and architectural risks affecting core enterprise systems.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, automation platforms, cloud services, frameworks, and third-party systems; build proofs of concept to validate future-state architecture and reduce technical uncertainty.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance and architectural mentoring to team members and reduce key-person dependency by promoting knowledge sharing, technical diagrams, documentation standards, architecture decision records, review practices, and reusable patterns while promoting professionalism, sound judgment, and constructive risk communication.
  • Establish and advocate engineering best practices including secure coding, Test-Driven Development (TDD), automated testing, CI/CD practices, code review standards, observability, and production stability.
  • Support Agile/Scrum delivery by clarifying technical scope, sequencing architectural work, identifying dependencies and tradeoffs, and aligning technical execution with sprint, release, and roadmap commitments.
  • Other duties as assigned by management. Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly. Must be able to take direction and work well with others.
