Job description

Senior Analyst – Strategic Finance, 3 days a week on site, NYC, $100-$110k Base Salary + 10% Bonus

We're partnering with a well-established, high-growth eCommerce retailer in the jewelry space on the search for a Senior Analyst, Strategic Finance to join its finance team.

You'll support the Head of Strategic Finance and partner cross-functionally with Commercial and Product Development senior leadership to turn data into insight that actually has an impact. You will also be key in helping build out AI functions to help improve workflows & processes. 

They are looking for someone straight out of IB, PE, Management Consulting, or in house strategic finance, who wants to be apart of shaping out finance functions and business decision making. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Analyze performance against forecasts, flagging room for growth and translating them into actionable insight
  • Build and improve financial models, processes, and reporting 
  • Own key pieces of the Marketing, Commercial, Operations, and Merchandising budgets, tracking actuals against forecast and communicating with senior leadership
  • Identify cost efficiency opportunities and track the impact once changes are underway
  • Prepare and deliver performance presentations to senior leadership, using numbers to tell a story 
  • Support broader data transformation work, including reporting improvements and data management

What we're looking for:

  • 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, equity research, or an in-house strategic finance team
  • Strong financial modeling skills, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint experience
  • Above average AI skills; comfortable using AI tools to speed up analysis and reporting
  • Ability to interpret complex data and turn it into recommendations leadership can act on
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; MBA a plus
  • eCommerce experience is a plus
  • Exposure to SAP, Power BI, or Tableau, and working knowledge of SQL or Python, is a plus

Compensation & logistics:

  • Base salary: $100,000 to $110,000, plus a 10% target annual cash bonus
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days per week in the Manhattan office
  • Reports to the Director of Strategic Finance
