Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for an energetic, highly motivated intern to join our Federal Department in Pittsburgh for the Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 Semesters!

This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience while working alongside experts on meaningful projects that support federal clients and critical infrastructure. This will be a part-time internship, with interns working a minimum of 16 hours per week starting in August 2026. Great for students looking to supplement their coursework with real-world experience!


As part of our 3,000+ professionals nationwide, you’ll be exposed to a wide range of disciplines—including civil/site, transportation, MEP, architecture, geospatial, environmental, telecommunications, and more all while learning how we use cutting-edge technologies to deliver innovative solutions to clients in the federal government.

Responsibilities
  • Assist our Federal Team to organize and maintain project profiles, resumes, and other documents to be used in proposals and task orders.
  • Research existing project content and statements of work to be concisely documented for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Determine the clearest way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
  • Meet with subject matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
  • Generate innovative ideas for content and presentation of materials.
  • Review and copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
  • Learn and utilize CRM and other resources to extract information from existing and past proposals.
  • Perform research to identify potential clients and opportunities.
  • Support other research and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Business, Public Policy, Marketing, Communications, or a related program.
  • Senior or Graduate Student standing preferred.
  • Prior experience with technical or creative writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Prior experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software a plus.
  • Must be able to commit to 16 hours a week minimum during the academic year. Opportunities for additional hours may be available during school breaks. 
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills.
  • Mastery of English grammar and writing for reader comprehension.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
