Job description

Salamander Designs is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineering Intern to join our engineering team. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in product design and development within a fast-paced, innovative manufacturing environment. The position has potential to grow into a full-time role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
โ€ขย  ย  ย  ย Assist in the design and development of AV furniture and related mechanical components using 3D CAD softwareย 
โ€ขย  ย  ย  ย Create, configure, and revise 2D drawings and 3D models to support manufacturing of standard and custom productย 
โ€ขย  ย  ย  ย  Assist with Engineering Change Requests, Vendor Quality Alerts, BOM updates and revisions, and custom order setup.
โ€ขย  ย  ย  ย Conduct testing and evaluation of prototypes and provideย  documentation
โ€ขย  ย  ย  ย Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across product lines and throughout the department,ย  with a focus on CAD database organization and File System Management
โ€ขย  ย  ย  ย Collaborate on new product development from ideation through prototyping and product launch
โ€ขย  ย  ย  ย Participate in custom product design reviews and provide engineering analysis and recommendations
Qualifications
โ€ขย  ย  ย  ย Current enrollment in an accredited Engineering or related program (junior or senior standing preferred)
โ€ขย  ย  ย  ย Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
โ€ขย  ย  ย  ย Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
