Salary: $6,500.00 Stipend

Job assignment and/or building assignment are subject to change based on program needs determined by the district.
This internship is for students that have reached the point in their School Psychology program where an internship is required. Kelso School District offers the highest quality of school psychology training for the intern. We provide a culminating and diverse experience which allows individuals the opportunity to practice and integrate numerous skills with support from field-based supervisors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with assessments (intelligence, achievement, functional behavioral, social, emotional and curriculum-based assessment) and interpret results for special education eligibility and individual program needs
Participate as a team member in special education assessment, eligibility and program design
Assist with case management and coordination
Assist with required reports in an accurate and timely manner; maintain compliance paperwork
Provide group and individual counseling and social skills training as indicated on IEP's
Consult with parents, staff and administration regarding student needs
Understand and comply with current legislation on children with disabilities
Understand and follow policies and procedures as adopted by the school district
Follow Code of Ethics and maintain a high standard of professional behavior
Provide crisis intervention to students when appropriate
Participate in interagency teams
Maintain student confidentiality according to HIPAA and FERPA guidelines
Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
