JOB DESCRIPTION
Work with Computer Science Assoc. Prof. Castleton and Utility Accounting Technician Michelle Toy to build a set of software tools that will make utility billing more person hour efficient.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities:
  • Understanding database normalization, SQL and join queries.

  • Experience building a User Interface associated with spreadsheet or database data sets. This can be python, java, or web pages (HTML/CSS/Javascript)

  • Understanding how to create a data analysis dashboard using python, java, or web pages commonly known as Business Intelligence.

  • Ability to work independently with weekly feedback from Castleton or Toy on the software tools being created.

  • Analyze a rough design or software change request and then interpret that design using tools available on CMU campus network resources.

  • Deploy and support the use of the tools once they are created.

  • Create documentation to train other individuals on the use of the tools created

The successful candidate would benefit from the following specific experience:
  • Using Microsoft Power Apps similar to that available through CMU's Office 365 subscription.

  • Using Microsoft PowerBI. PowerBI is also available through CMU's Office 365 Subscription.
