McKesson High Volume Solutions Inc. is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Software Development Intern to join our team for Summer 2027. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to real-world software projects, gain valuable industry experience, and develop your skills alongside experienced engineers.

Intern Program Details:

Paid Internship

Full time / 10 weeks

Position will be based out of our Irving, TX location

The internship program provides networking, access to executives, structured performance & coaching

Experiential learning and training provided by exposure to subject matter experts

Job Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with senior developers and product managers to understand project requirements and contribute to technical design discussions.
* Write, test, and debug clean, efficient, and well-documented code in various programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python).
* Assist in the development and maintenance of software applications, features, and tools.
* Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and learning from peers.
* Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
* Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
* Learn and apply new technologies, development methodologies, and best practices.
* Engage in team meetings, stand-ups, and other collaborative activities.
Job Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Expected graduation date of Fall 2027, Spring 2028, Fall 2028 or Spring 2029.
* Solid understanding of fundamental computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
* Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., C#, Java, Python).
* Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts.
* Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Prior internship experience or personal projects demonstrating software development aptitude is a plus.
