Overview
Join Sedaro as a Capture & Business Development Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting the capture lifecycle, from opportunity identification and qualification through proposal development, submission, and contract award.
During this SkillBridge internship, the participant will work alongside Sedaro's Growth team to develop practical experience in government business development, capture strategy, proposal management, federal acquisition processes, customer engagement, and cross-functional team coordination.

About Sedaro
Sedaro is a fast-growing technology company developing a cloud-native digital engineering and simulation platform that enables organizations to design, analyze, and operate complex systems of systems.
As a Capture & Business Development Intern, the SkillBridge participant will gain exposure to how technology companies identify, pursue, and capture government and commercial opportunities within the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) industry.
During the internship, the SkillBridge participant will gain experience in:
  • Government and commercial business development.
  • Opportunity identification and qualification.

  • Developing win themes and competitive analyses.

  • Translating complex technical capabilities into customer-focused messaging.
  • Strategic partnerships and teaming relationships.

Capture & Business Development Strategy
The Capture & Business Development Intern will:
  • Assist with identifying and qualifying government and commercial business opportunities aligned with company goals.
  • Support the development of capture strategies for potential contract opportunities.
  • Participate in customer, government stakeholder, teaming partner, and industry engagement activities.
  • Gain experience evaluating opportunities based on customer requirements, company capabilities, and growth strategy.

Opportunity & Proposal Management
The intern will:
  • Support government and commercial opportunities throughout the capture lifecycle.
  • Assist with developing capture plans, win themes, and competitive analyses for potential pursuits.
  • Participate in developing proposal responses and reviewing requirements for compliance with RFI, RFP, RPP, and other solicitation requirements.
  • Help break complex proposal efforts into manageable tasks, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Assist with tracking proposal requirements, action items, and submission schedules.
  • Gain exposure to negotiations and contract award processes.

Execution & Team Coordination
The intern will:
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, business developers, external partners, and company leadership.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining RFI/RFP/RPP response schedules, milestones, and review processes.
  • Support coordination of internal development needs related to strategic capture opportunities.
  • Assist with tracking proposal budgets, resources, deadlines, and risks.
  • Participate in customer engagements, partner meetings, and industry events as appropriate.
  • Gain experience communicating technical topics and company capabilities to customers and partners.

Travel may be required on an ad hoc basis to support customer engagements, partner meetings, and industry events.
Preferred Background
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering/science, business, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting government contracting, business development, proposals, project management, or similar functions.
  • Familiarity with DoW, Intelligence Community, or other federal acquisition processes.
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS-based or OTA-based contracting.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating teams, projects, or deadline-driven activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical, government, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience developing professional written materials, presentations, proposals, or similar deliverables.

Additional Desirable Experience
  • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance.
  • Familiarity with software solutions or the Aerospace & Defense market.
  • Experience supporting the Department of the Air Force (USAF/USSF), U.S. Navy, Intelligence Community, or other government organizations.
  • Technical background in systems engineering, modeling and simulation, software, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in small businesses or startups.
  • Program management experience within the A&D market.
  • Previous exposure to government capture or proposal efforts.

Compensation Range:
If hired after the internship the target compensation range is $130K+. This compensation can vary depending on experience level, certifications, and other factors.
