Lead SDET

Location: Rockville, MD

Role Overview: Apex Systems has an immediate opening for a Lead SDET. The position is on a long term contract basis, with chance to become a permanent employee if desired. The successful candidate will work in a fast paced environment, with strong software development skills & an understanding of application testing.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • 7+ years of demonstrable hands-on development experience (Java)
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries
  • Understanding of application testing methods & toolse.g. Junit, JMeter
  • Experience using AWS: EC2, RDS, EMR, S3, Lambda
  • Experience with Selenium or Cypress is highly preferred
  • At a minimum, candidates should possess skills / experience including, but not limited to, the following:
    • Ability to analyze and linearize algorithms
    • Understand how to use data structures correctly
    • Development and programming experience in Java / J2EE
    • Candidates should have experience throughout all phases of the SDLC; and experience leading cross functional teams.
    • Specific testing experience should include:
      • Execution of test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures
      • Testing system modifications to prepare for implementation
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills, and learn new tools quickly

Required Skills: -8+ years of experience as a Sr. SDET -Lead SDET experience is HIGHLY desired but not required -Selenium/Cucumber experience is a MUST HAVE (7-8+ years) -Java programming experience is a MUST HAVE (5+ years)
