Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Residential Life, the Community Coordinator is charged with developing a residential community that promotes engagement, learning, respect for diversity, and student success. The Community Coordinator will facilitate the planning and implementation of programs to support the retention, persistence, academic success and graduation goals of the university.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish a positive and responsible relationship with students in their pursuit of campus engagement and leadership development.
  • Provide support to students experiencing emotional, academic, physical, and/or interpersonal difficulties, and refers them to campus resources when appropriate.
  • Facilitate delivery of intentional educational and social programming for the residence hall and campus communities to maximize student involvement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of campus-wide activities including marketing, recruiting, planning, executing, and assessment
  • Maintain office hours and respond to student/stakeholder needs through visibility and availability in the residence hall office.
  • Provide assistance to the Director of Residential Life in the daily operation of the residence halls including building opening/closing, software management (erezlife), monitoring of room inventories and room changes, and follow up on work orders.
  • On-scene response to campus situations utilizing departmental protocol and procedures.
  • Assist with training, supervising, and evaluating Resident Assistant (RA) student staff members.
  • Serve in an on-call rotation for the entire residential population including after-hours and some weekends/holidays.
  • Work evenings and weekends as necessary to fulfill expectations of the position.
  • Living on campus at The Oaks is a requirement for the position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in Residential Life and Campus Programming preferred.
  • Experience in conducting student leadership training and program planning in a college environment preferred.
  • Ability to work well within a broader team and demonstrate flexibility and approachability.
  • Ability to problem solve, brainstorm and to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Excellent organizational ability, high level of accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a valid Driver's license

HOURS: Eight (8) hours per day, Monday -Friday 40 hours a week. Additional hours worked as needed.
