Job description

We are seeking a Software Engineer 4 (P40) to join Adobe's Document Cloud organization and help build the next generation of AI-powered document experiences. This role is heavily passionate about frontend engineering, developing highly scalable, performant, and intuitive user experiences that leverage Generative AI to transform how customers interact with documents.
Joining the team, you will design customer-facing experiences fueled by Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Assistants, AI Agents, conversational interfaces, intelligent document workflows, and content generation capabilities. You will be instrumental in bringing innovative AI experiences to Adobe Acrobat and Document Cloud products that impact millions of users around the world.
As a P40 engineer, you will own complex frontend initiatives from start to finish. You will influence architectural decisions and drive engineering excellence. You will also use modern AI-assisted development practices to speed innovation and increase customer impact.
What You'll Do
  • Compose, build, and deliver sophisticated frontend experiences using modern web technologies and frameworks.
  • Lead the development of Generative AI-powered features that help customers summarize, build, understand, and interact with documents more effectively.
  • Build intuitive user experiences for AI Assistants, conversational workflows, content generation powered by artificial intelligence, and intelligent document experiences within Adobe Document Cloud products.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex customer-facing features-from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Drive frontend architecture that improves scalability, performance, reliability, maintainability, and accessibility.
  • Develop reusable UI frameworks, component libraries, and build system integrations that accelerate product development.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Build, Research, and AI/ML teams to bring innovative AI capabilities to customers.
  • Connect frontend applications to GenAI services, APIs, and cloud-based AI platforms.
  • Employ AI-assisted development tools to boost engineering efficiency, code quality, and development velocity.
  • Optimize applications for performance, accessibility, observability, and outstanding user experience.

Expected Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $139,000 -- $257,550 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
In California, the pay range for this position is $177,900 - $257,550
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
