Job Summary:
PeopleSERVE, Inc. is seeking a talented Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a team building responsive web designs for FidelityCharitable.org. The role involves working as part of a Scrum team to enhance user experience through automated testing and collaboration on product development.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Work as an Agile team member to provide solutions to User Stories (requirements) including automated test scenarios
โ€ข Participate in understanding and grooming of User Stories, QA related tasks and test cases, and functional automation
โ€ข Participate in product demos at iteration reviews
โ€ข Log defects/issues and work with team members to ensure resolution
โ€ข Participate in defect triage
โ€ข Participate in production release deployment verification on a regular cadence
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
โ€ข Experience and/or knowledge of both QA Engineering and Software Development
โ€ข Proficiency or proven ability to learn professional software development skills and practices. Examples include Coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, design patterns, Object- Oriented Design and Development, Software design principles.
โ€ข Experience or knowledge of using a Selenium automation framework (Java based)
โ€ข Experience or understanding of Agile software development methodology using Scrum
โ€ข Strong understanding of QA engineering, analysis, and testing concepts
โ€ข Understanding the concepts of defect tracking tools and processes
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must
โ€ข Highly collaborative team player that works well within a cross functional team
โ€ข Strong problem identification and solving skills
โ€ข Continuous improvement mindset where mistakes and failure are viewed as opportunities to learn and improve
โ€ข Understanding of the benefits of sustainable development including a good work-life balance
โ€ข Is driven by a QA mindset that the product is already broken - it has defects and flaws, and it is your job (along with your team members) to find them
Preferred:
โ€ข Java development including Junit, Groovy
โ€ข SQL and NoSQL database experience
โ€ข BDD experience or familiarity โ€“ Gherkin experience is a plus but not required
โ€ข Experience or knowledge of testing web applications and Webservices (REST API's)
โ€ข Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Deployment
