AERMOR is hiring a Software Engineer IV in Virginia Beach, VA to support software development, system design, documentation, and testing. The role involves reviewing source code, participating in code reviews, developing and validating software test plans, ensuring requirements traceability, and supporting configuration management.

This position is onsite in Virginia Beach, VA.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment
  • Analyze software source code to identify defects, ensure adherence to coding standards, and verify proper implementation.
  • Verify adherence to established software development standards and best practices.
  • Participate in and support code reviews.
  • Identify, evaluate, and propose mitigation strategies for software development and deployment risks.
  • Backend development to include experience building APIs and service layers.
Documentation
  • Contribute to the development and review of software design documents.
  • Review software documentation (design docs, user manuals, etc.) for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct requirements traceability to verify requirements are correct, complete, unambiguous, and testable.
  • Support configuration management processes to ensure proper version control and documentation tracking.
Testing
  • Develop and support software test plans.
  • Perform validation testing to ensure systems meet verified requirements.
  • Provide support for internal and external verification and validation test events.
  • Review and assess test cases and test procedures for coverage and effectiveness.
Required Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Linux environments.
  • Software engineering experience to include system design, database design and development.
  • NodeJS, JavaScript, VueJS. Python or Java experience will be considered as well.
  • Experience with C++ (on Linux and command line/associated toolchain).
  • Experience developing and integrating open-source tools and software systems.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, build, source control (Git/Gitlab), and code review processes.
  • Agile Development and Configuration Management Tools (JIRA, Confluence).
Preferred Experience
  • 14 years with bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science or related field or 10 years of experience with a master's degree.
  • Experience with file-based database systems.
Certifications
  • Individual shall be working towards one of the relevant certifications within one and a half years after assuming duties: CompTIA Sec+, Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), Cloud certifications, etc.

Compensation for this position is based on several considerations, including applicable contract wage rates and labor categories, geographic location, relevant professional experience, technical expertise, education, certifications, and overall alignment with the role's requirements.
